Information Resources Center
The Information Resources Centre is located at the FAO Representation in Hanoi. It was established in 1993 as an open reference library and contains a comprehensive collection of books, publications, project documents and CD-ROMs on agriculture, food security, nutrition, forestry, fisheries, as well as socio-economic issues in agriculture and rural development. The library is open to the general public and there are no membership card or fee requirements. Library materials are intended for studying or photocopying in the Center and cannot be borrowed.
The objectives of the Information Resources Centre are the following:

Providing information, data and references for FAO consultants, staff, researchers and the general public.

Offering a source of information and data on FAO, especially projects in Vietnam, to government officials, agricultural institutions, NGOs, other UN agencies and the general public.

Assisting visitors to gain access to FAO’s extensive agricultural information database through WAICENT.

Serving as a reference information resources centre for university students, teaching institutions and other agricultural research centres.

Contributing towards one of FAO's mandates as a knowledge forum: the dissemination of information on various aspects of food and agriculture. A wide range of FAO publications are made available for those interested in the FAO’s activities in Vietnam.
Facilities
Books and Monographs: Over 4,000 titles of books and publications displayed on open shelves and classified according to FAO Classification System.

Country Collections: FAO project reports, field documents as well as reports published by the Government, national and international institutions with specific reference to Vietnam.

Periodicals: Newsletters and journals published either by FAO or other sources.

Internet: Wifi internet is available free of charge.
Opening hours for the general public:
Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 12:00pm and 14:00pm – 17:00pm.
